At Mark’s request, here’s a list of cities that I spent the night in during 2006… or at least the cities I remember. Seems really odd that I didn’t spend a night in San Francisco this year but maybe that’s right?

  • Arlington, MA

  • Bangkok, Thailand

  • Chicago, IL

  • Halifax, Nova Scotia

  • Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam

  • Kigali, Rwanda

  • Kampala, Uganda

  • Las Vegas, NV

  • Los Angeles, CA

  • Manila, Philippines

  • Nairobi, Kenya

  • New York, NY

  • Phnom Penh, Cambodia

  • Tulum, Mexico

  • Washington, DC

  • Whistler, BC

I think these all had multi-night stays other than Nairobi and Bangkok. Estimated nights away - and this is a complete SWAG - around 75-80 or so. Pretty low-key travel year, all in all… somewhere in the range of 90,000 miles flown.

Side note: I had no idea that SWAG, when used in the context of giveaways for tradeshows, etc., was an acronym for “Souvenirs, Wearables, and Gifts”. The things you learn on the last Friday of the year…
