Just landed in Amsterdam and remembered immediately how much I love this place:
- The train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal Station takes 15 minutes and costs €2.20 and is uber-comfy and easy and way better than a long expensive taxi ride
- Upon arrival at Amsterdam CS, I went out to the taxi rank and the taxi driver looked at my hotel info and said “oh, you can walk there, just go down that street 200 meters and it’s on your left” instead of taking me on a €20 tour of Amsterdam
There are other delightful things about AMS too… looking forward to a weekend of hanging out with friends and enjoying the city intermingled with catching up on the 800+ email backlog.
One thing to dislike: a can o’ Pepsi from the minibar costs €3.25 which in American money is probably around $24.99.
